Authoirities in different districts on Tuesday took stock of facilities at different quarantine facilities.
In Bandipora, Deputy Commissioner Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza directed the officers to provide all requisite facilities at quarantine centres, prescribed under the guidelines of Union Heath Ministry.
He directed the staff to strictly follow the SoP with regard to the facilities prescribed by the WHO and Union Ministry, including daily clinical examination, establishment of infection prevention control measures, lodging catering laundry, bio-medical waste management and other logistics.
The meeing was informed that 20 qurantine centres have been established in the district so far with capacity of about 250 beds and 78 persons have been put under quarantine.
The Deputy Commissioner visited designated quarantine centres at Chitternar, Degree College Patushai and One Stop Centre at Nishat Park and took stock of the arrangements in place.
He asked the nodal officer to work in tandem with office of Divisional Commissioner, Director, airport authority along with Bandipora police and health department for arranging foreign return citizens and students of the district and their lodging at various centres.
He said the supervisory officers and nodal officers have also been designated for each quarantine centre established across the district.
At Kulgam, Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam Showkat Aijaz Bhat, visited various quarantine centers and took stock of arrangements being put in place at these centers.
He impressed upon the officers to ensure that proper hygienic refreshment was being served at these centers to quarantined persons.
He also took stock of all arrangements including, sanitation, electricity, bedding, heating and other arrangements at these centre.
Later the Deputy Commissioner inspected health center at Yaripora and took stock of healthcare services and measures which have been put in place to tackle Covid-19.
He appealed people to stay at home, maintain social distance and follow advisories of health department in letter and spirit.
The Municipal Committees of Bandipora, Hajin and Sumbal deputed their teams in their respective areas to disinfect various public places including hospitals, designated quarantine centres, markets, government offices, religious places, police stations and other public places.
The Deputy Commissioner said the fumigation and cleanliness drive was a continuous process and the Municipal Committees have been directed to intensify the drive.
