Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) under Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, today extended the term of prominent writer, poet, painter and scholar Dr. Ayaz Rasool Nazki as Regional Director of its Kashmir office.

During last 3 years Nazki did extra-ordinary work to propagate art, culture and languages of Jammu and Kashmir at national and international level. During this period he organised a number of mega events in different parts of Kashmir.

Author of more than one dozen books in English, Urdu and Kashmiri, Dr. Nazki has contributed hundreds of research papers on different aspects of Kashmir culture to national and international journals.

Founder Registrar of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Dr Nazki was instrumental in creating viable infrastructure for the University.

Son of nationally acclaimed Urdu and Kashmiri poet and broadcaster Mir Ghulam Rasool Nazki, Dr Nazki has good hold on literature of five languages.

Dr. Nazki has scripted a number of serials, documentaries on Kashmir culture and heritage for All India Radio and Doordarshan.
