All Parties Coordination Committee on Article 35-A on Monday gave a one day bandh call for Rajouri district on August 30 and a call for protests after Friday prayers on August 31.

The program was decided in a meeting of All Parties Coordination Committee held at TalabWali Masjid Rajouri town headed by Moulana Mohammad Farooq Naimi along with KhateebGhulamRasool and other Islamic clerics while many civil society members, religious scholars and political leaders were also present.

“On August 30, a bandh will be observed in Rajouri district and traffic will remain off the road. We appeal people from all walks of life to support this call as Article 35-A is not attached to any religion or community but it is an issue of the whole state,” Moulana Mohammad Farooq Naimi told media persons.

He added that bandh will be completely peaceful and its objective was to demonstrate to Government of India that tinkering with Article 35-A is a sensitive issue.
