Bandipora shuts after reports of killing of local militant in Sopore gunfight

A spontaneous shutdown is being observed in north Kashmir’s Bandipora town on Saturday after reports said that a local militant was killed in a gunfight with the forces in Sopore yesterday.

All shops and business established were closed while traffic remained off the roads.

   

Locals said that the town was shut after reports started doing rounds that one of the militants killed in Sopore gunfight was from Qazipora village of the district.

However, a senior police official said that there was no confirmation so far about the killing of a local militant in Sopore gunfight.

Reports said the youth blocked the roads in Watapora, Qazipora and Onagam villages.
