Bashir Sogami passes away

Vohra, Omar, Soz , Tarigami, ministers condole demise

Srinagar, May 16: Bashir Ahmad Wani (Sogami), son of former Minister and Member of Constituent Assembly, Ghulam Nabi Wani (Sogami), passed away, here this morning. He was 67. The late Sogami is survived by his wife and three sons, including Minister of State for Home, Nasir Aslam Wani.
 Sogami was not keeping well for the past few months and breathed his last this morning.
 His Namaz-e-Jinazah was offered at Raj Bagh. It was attended by hundreds of people including the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and several of his ministerial colleagues.
 Later, he was laid to rest in the graveyard of Masjid Ibrahim, Hyderpora. The Jummah Fateha of late Bashir Sogami would be offered on May 20 (Friday) at 2.30 pm. 

VOHRA, OMAR CONDOLE DEMISE
 The Governor, N N Vohra, condoled the sad demise.
 He expressed sympathies with Nasir Aslam Wani and other members of the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
 Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, expressed deep grief over the demise.
 He visited the house of Nasir Aslam Wani stayed with the bereaved family  and consoled them. He offered fateha and expressed sorrow over the sad demise. 

MINISTERS EXPRESS SOLIDARITY 
  The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Muhammad Akbar Lone, Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand,   Minister for Finance, Abdul Rahim Rather, Minister for Rural Development, Ali Muhammad Sagar, Minister for PHE, Taj Mohi-ud-Din, Minister for CA&PD, Qamar Ali Akhoon, Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir, Minister for Revenue and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla, Minister for Animal Husbandry, Aga Syed Ruhulla Mehdi, Minister for Social Welfare, Sakina Itoo, Minister for School Education, Peerzada Muhammad Syed, Minister for Forests, Mian Altaf Ahmad, Minister for Tourism, Nawang Rigzin Jora, Minister for Industries and Commerce, S S Slathia, Minister for Health Sham Lal Sharma, Minister for Medical Education, R S Chib condoled the demise of Bashir Sogami and expressed solidarity with Nasir Aslam Wani and other members of the bereaved family.  
 Ministers of State, including Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, Ajaz Ahmad Khan, Shabir Ahmad Khan and Javid Ahmad Dar also condoled the demise.

SOZ GRIEVED
 The president of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Professor Saifuddin Soz, expressed anguish over the sad demise.
 Soz offered his heartfelt condolences to Nasir Aslam Wani and other members of the bereaved family.

TARIGAMI CONDOLES DEMISE
 Member of Legislative Assembly, M Y Tarigami expressed profound grief over the demise.
 In a condolence message, Tarigami said that the deceased was a man of principles bearing a good moral character. He prayed for peace to the departed soul and expressed sympathies with Nasir Aslam and his other bereaved family members.

OFFICIALS, TRADERS CONDOLE DEMISE  
 Various departments and organizations have condoled the sad demise.
 A condolence meeting was held by the senior officers of the JKTDC led by its MD Satish Nehru. The meeting expressed sympathy with bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul. 
 President of Employees’ Joint Action committee (Q) Abdul Qayoom Wani also expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise and prayed for peace to the deceased.
 The DG Fire and Emergency Services Dr. G A Bhat condoled the demise and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.
 The president of Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK) Rauf Tramboo and  junior vice-president of KHAROF also condoled the demise.
