Beating of teachers, students | Women's Commission takes cognizance of GK report

The J&K State Commission for Protection of Women and Child Rights has sought a report into the thrashing of teachers and students of a private school.

The development comes two days after Greater Kashmir reported that the teachers and students of Hanfia Model Higher Secondary School (HMHSS), Kreeri in Baramulla were Saturday evening thrashed by local youth at Raiyaar area of Budgam district.

The school had gone for a picnic to Doodpathri area of Budgam district.

“Considering the gravity of the matter, it is requested to furnish the latest status in the matter within five days,” reads a letter addressed to SSP Budgam district.

On Saturday, when the school was returning from picnic, one of the school buses got stuck on road at Reyaar following which students including girls came out of bus to purchase some eatables.
