Bengaluru Police books three Kashmiri students for social media posts over Pulwama attack

Three Kashmiri students have been booked by Surya Nagar Police in Bengaluru for posting alleged “anti-national and derogatory comments” on social media over Pulwama attack.

The trio are pursuing a B.Sc nursing course from two colleges in Bengaluru city.

   

The detained have been identified as Haris Manzoor, Gowhar Mustaq both 2nd year students of Spurthy College while as Zakir Maqbool is pursuing his course form Chinai College. He is enrolled in 4th year of the course.

A Police official in Surya Nagar Police station told Greater Kashmir that three Kashmiri students were detained by the police. “All the three have been shifted to Central Jail of Bengaluru,” the police official said.

The police official said the trio were charged with sections 124A and 153A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Mudasir Ahmad, brother of one of the detained students, Haris Manzoor told Greater Kashmir over phone from Bengaluru that he was trying to approach the college authorities for their assistance.
