Bijbehara students protest 'arbitrary order' on 2 exam papers

Scores of students from Bijbihara who recently appeared in the 12th class bi-annual examination, Friday held a protest demonstration at Press Enclave here, against the cancellation of their two papers by the BOSE authorities, terming it an “arbitrary” order.

The protestors said that few students at public school Bijbihara exam centre during the exam last month had allegedly been found “cheating” by the J&K Bose of School Education (BOSE) authorities.  “Following this, the board authorities instead of taking action against those students, cancelled two papers,” they said.

They said around 60 students had appeared in the examination at the public school Bijbihara. “The board officials caught only a few students cheating,” said Junaid, a protesting student.

“We approached the board authorities who told us that the exam of these two papers will be held next year only. This will hit us badly as we will lose our one academic year. We have already submitted provisional admission forms in different colleges,” he said.

Earlier these students held a protest at BOSE office Srinagar demanding that action should be taken against erring students only and order of cancellation should be revoked.

The students appealed to the authorities to look into the matter so that they don’t have to lose their academic year.
