BJP has acknowledged Kashmir is a disputed territory: Er Rashid

Srinagar, Dec 29: Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) president, Er Rashid Monday said by putting the precondition for government formation in JK that “there can be no compromise on sovereignty of India,” BJP has accepted Kashmir as a dispute.

“In no other state BJP lays precondition to a regional party to accept that no compromise will be made on sovereignty as has been laid out in case of Jammu and Kashmir which signifies that BJP is tacitly accepting Kashmir as a disputed territory,” Rashid said while addressing a public meeting at Langate.

He said PDP patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed should talk with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on implementing Self-Rule and work towards final settlement of the Kashmir issue “which matters most to people of Kashmir.”

“How can PDP align with such a communal party that is having poisonous communal agenda in form of Ghar Wapsi and Betiy bachav and Bahu laav and all this is a new low in polity,” he said.

Rubbishing BJP assertion that Jammu region has been discriminated, Rashid said it is in fact Kashmir that has witnessed a sea of suffering and pain on account of lingering conflict while as “Jammu has had a merry ride.”
