Unidentified gunmen on Saturday night shot dead a leader ofBharatiya Janata Party in Verinag area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Reports said that gunmen barged inside the home of GulMuhammad Mir (60) alias Atal in Verinag and fired upon him, leaving himcritically injured.
They said Mir was rushed to district hospital Anantnag wheredoctors declared him dead on arrival.
Mir, according to reports, was Anantnag district VicePresident of the BJP.
