Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Mahila Morcha, Vijaya Rahatkar, addressed a women workers’ convention on her visit to Kashmir on Tuesday.
“I am happy to see women in Kashmir participating inpolitical activities. This will be definitely helpful to them as BJP governmenthas provided them the space to lead their society,” she was quoted in astatement.
“Women participation will rescue the Kashmir valley from theclutches of uncertainty and agony,” she said.
Vijaya Rahatkar appreciated the party workers for strengthening the party cadre in Kashmir, “where the basic membership crossed more than 4.50 lakh,” said the statement, adding that the party was hopeful of converting this “huge number of party cadre” into full vote bank. Rahatkar asked the activists to follow the footsteps of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookherjee while working for the welfare of the people.
Speaking on the occasion, Mahilla Morcha national vice-president Reshma Sood said that only the BJP has given true representation to the women cutting across all the differences of region or religion. She said that the BJP was the only political party which has truly recognized the women power and has given them representation at every level of the party.
