Bodies of three missing hunters retrieved from Kupwara avalanche site

After three days of extensive search in north Kashmir’s Kupwara forests, bodies of three missing hunters were retrieved on Thursday that had come under an avalanche last week.

Officials said bodies of Altaf Ahmad Mir, Bashir Ahmad Ganie and Ghulam Mohammad Lone all residents of Warnow Lolab were retrieved from snow mass.

   

 “A rescue team of army’s 18 RR, police and SDRF comprising of 82 persons were deputed on Wednesday morning to the avalanche spot,” said Ahmad Hussain Bhat, Sub Divisional Magistrate Lolab.

The trio was part of a hunter group that had come under an avalanche in Lashkote forests last week.
