CASO in Shopian village

Government forces on Friday evening launched a cordon-and-search operation (CASO) at Daramdora, Keegam village in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

A police official said a joint team of the army, the central reserve police force (CRPF) and the SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police ring-fenced Daramdora, Keegam village at around 6:50 pm and began a search operation.

   

The search, he said, was launched after the forces received information about the presence of militant in the area. 

“Lights have been installed and all the entry and exit points to the village were sealed with barbed wires” said the official.
