In Sirhama Village of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, a group of cattle lifters fled the spot after the villagers tried to catch hold of them during the night of April 14 and 15.
The residents told Greater Kashmir that the thieves fled thespot after some people tried to catch hold of them. “The culprits however leftbehind a vehicle,” they said. The residents said they took over the processionof the vehicle the thieves used to carry the cattle away. The residents later informed the administrationand police about the incident.
The residents alleged that the thieves during last year alsomade away with a number of cattle and sheep. They have called for a stringentaction against the culprits.
