Cattle thieves caught in Sonamarg, handed over to police

Two cattle thieves were caught by the locals in Shutkadi village of Sonamarg in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district last night and handed over to the police.

Local said that two persons moving suspiciously in the area were caught after they attempted to steal cattle from a pasture near a hotel in Sonamarg. They said that two other accompanying them managed to flee from the spot.

   

A police official confirmed that two persons were handed over to them by the locals.

He said a case under FIR number 18/2018 under sections 379, 511 RPC was registered against the duo at Sonamarg police station. “Further investigation is going on,” he said.
