Pakistani troops resorted to intense shelling in Hajipeer sector of Uri in north Kashmir on Tuesday evening, a police official said.
The official said the army, in response to unprovokedshelling, targeted Pakistani posts.
An official said there was no report of any causality ordamage to property. “The area is witnessing heavy rains. We are in touch withlocals and so far there is no report of loss of life or damage to property”said the official.
The exchange of shelling was going on when this report wasfiled.
Earlier, on March 26, a residential house was damaged afterPakistani troops resorted to shelling in Churanda village of Hajipeer Sector.
