CEO Kathua bans use of phones by teachers, students in classrooms

The Chief Education Officer Kathua banned the use of phones in classrooms by the teachers and students, an order issued on Monday said.

The order read, “It has come to the notice of the undersigned (CEO Kathua) that some teachers and masters used to engage themselves on cell phones during classrooms/school working hours instead of teaching the students. Some students also use the phones during the school hours. By way of it, study of students suffers badly and also creates nuisance and indiscipline in the school. Keeping in view the seriousness of the matter and to check this malpractice, all the teaching faculty is hereby directed not to use the cell phones during school hours.”

   

The teachers were also directed to check and ensure that the students are not in possession of cell phones. “Violation of these instructions will be viewed seriously and action warranted under rule shall be initiated against the defaulters,” the order further read.
