Chairperson Law Commission, member CWC, delegation meet LG

Justice (Retd) MK Hanjura, Chairperson, J&K Law Commission met Lieutenant Governor (LG), GC Murmu at Raj Bhavan here Friday.

The Chairperson and the LG discussed issues pertaining tofunctioning of the Commission. Hanjura apprised the LG about status of theidentification and purge of obsolete and redundant laws.

   

Various issues relating to the effective functioning of thejudicial system were also discussed.

Meanwhile, member, Central Waqf Council and Chairperson,Waqf Development Committee, Union Ministry of Minority Affairs, DarakhshanAndrabi, also met the LG.

Andrabi apprised the LG about several measures initiated bythe Council for protection and retrieval of the Waqf Properties.

She submitted amemorandum which included suggested measures for making education sector moreeffective by way of making public libraries and those in educational institutesbetter equipped with latest publications and books in various modern Indianlanguages.

Members, All Party Development Committee, Reasi, led by SukhDev Sharma, also called on the LG.

The delegation submitted a memorandum of demands pertainingto enhancing of health facilities by posting required support staff along withequipment and machinery at Mother & Child Healthcare Hospital Reasi to makeit fully operational.
