Charred body of soldier found in Panzgam army camp in north Kashmir

The charred body of an army soldier was found inside 175 Territorial Army regiment at Panzgam in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Friday, police said.

A police official identified the deceased army man as 31-year-old Mushtaq Ahmad Pir (Belt number 32009), son of Mohammad Yaseen of Maidan Chowgal Handwara.

“The body has been recovered from the camp and sent to Kupwara hospital for post mortem,” he said.

The official said a police party has been sent to the 175 TA regiment camp to investigate the incident. “The cause of his death will be revealed after proper investigation of the case,” said the official.

The body will be handed over to their legal heirs after medico-formalities, he said.
