Patients from scores of villages of Hajin town in this district continue to suffer due to non-availability of digital X-Ray machine at the Community Health Center (CHC).
The Centre serves more than 40 vilages of Hajin town. Anofficial said the centre, which was established in 1960, hospital has nodigital X-Ray machine. He said someyears ago a consultant surgeon, DrShowkat Ahmad donated from his pocket forpurchase of manual X-Ray machine.
Most of the times the patients are send to Sumbal hospitalor Srinagar for X-Ray or the patients have to get the X-ray done from privateclinics at exorbitant rates.
“Patients especially those critical ill are facing problemsdue to lack of the facility at the hospital,” said Nazir Ahmad, a local.Residents of this town have on several occasions protested in the past seekingdigital X-Ray machine at the Centre. Block Medical Officer, Hajin, DrAijazAhmad acknowledged the centre was lacking digital X-Ray machine.
“We have sent requisition to the higher authorities andwe’re hopeful the issue will be solved soon,” he said.
