Children need proper exposure at early age: Secy Info

Secretary information department Sarmad Hafeez on Tuesday stated that children can bring a positive change in society if they are given better exposure at an early stage in schools.

Hafeez was speaking during a SESAME Workshop organized at Doordarshan office here to launch Galli Galli Sim Sim Kashmiri Progaramme for kids of Kashmir on DD Kashmir.

“We always keep targeting adults and students at University level but only small children can bring a change if they are given proper exposure at early stage,” he said.

Sramd Hafeez said students in schools need to be given focus on moral values and should be taught about how to be a good human being.

“They should be taught lessons about how to face this big bang world. Algorithm-addition, subtraction and other mathematics is taught everywhere students should be given exposure to be an agent change,” he said.

He said young children need stable relationships, care and continuous access to education that will help them build better lives and develop resilience.

“Due to various circumstances, often this care gets compromised. We are happy that through Doordarshan and Galli Galli Sim Sim children will now be able to prepare for school and learn skills beyond ABCs and 123s at home,” he said and complemented Doordarshan for launching the programme.
