CJ Mittal visits juvenile observation home at Harwan

Chief Justice of J&K High Court, Gita Mittal on Saturday inspected Skill Development Programme at Juvenile Observation Home at Harwan, Srinagar.

The programme was organised by J&K ICPS in collaborationwith Delhi based Skill Development Institute, PRIMERO, according to an officialspokesperson.

   

The Chief Justice was accompanied by State Mission Director,ICPS, GA Sofi, Secretary Juvenile Justice Committee and Principal Secretary toChief Justice.

During the visit, the Chief Justice was informed that afacility for linking of District Juvenile Justice Boards with the ObservationHome through video-conferencing is being established and is at the stage offinalization. The facility is being created to ensure that the children who arein conflict with law will get timely justice.

To create the job opportunities/establishment of tradeunits, a special ROZGAR MELA is also being organized in the premises of theobservation Home, Harwan on 6th of August, 2019.

During the visit, the Chief Justice interacted with theinmates of the Observation Home and observed that positive changes are visiblein the attitude of the inmates. She lauded the efforts of the concerned staffand department in this regard.
