Class 8 results out, 98% students qualify exams

Class 10 results to be announced next week: BOSE

The School Education Department on Friday announced result of class 8 annual exams with 98 percent students from government and private schools qualifying the exam.

Of the 84273 students which appeared in the examination, 82562 students were declared qualified.

“The students, who have not qualified the exams, will be provided remedial classes during winter by teachers followed by their separate exams in March next year,” an official said.

He said the students will be promoted to class 9 only after qualifying the exams. As per the policy adopted by the department, the teachers who fail to ensure 100 percent results in their respective subjects are to be put under suspension or their increment withheld till they improve their results after holding separate exam for potential learners.

The potential learners are those students who fail to qualify all the subjects in their annual exams.

In the past the department would upload the class 8 results on the official website of DEITs in every district. But this year, the students had to visit the schools or DEIT offices to check their results personally owing to internet gag.
