College of Education hosts maiden int’l e-dialogue on Covid19

The Government College of Education, Institute of Advanced Studies in Education Maulana Azad Road Srinagar on Friday hosted first international e-dialogue on Covid-19 (Lessons learnt and the way forward) through zoom platform.

In a statement issued, the spokesperson said that the aim of the programme was to bring together bright minds to share their knowledge that will help to foster learning about the Covid-19 pandemic. The event commenced with the welcome address from Principal of the college Prof. Dr. Ruhi Kanth who was also the patron of the event.

   

Among the invited speakers included Dr Zeenat Butt, consultant, physician, NHS Trust, Calyponds Hospital, London; Dr Timothy Wilton, registrar, NHS Trust, Clayponds Hospital, London and Dr Abdul Maajid, associate professor Psychiatry, SKIMS, Soura.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Zeenat Butt presented an extensive overview of the Covid situation and explained the do’s and dont’s of Covid 19 to the participants.

Dr. Timothy Wilton shared the Covid timeline of UK and explained the various Covid alert levels.

Dr. Abdul Maajid spoke on the stigma, death and grief associated with Covid-19 and the impact that it making on the minds of people. Dr Malik Roshan coordinated the event, which concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sabahat Aslam (Co-coordinator of the programme).
