Cong seeks restoration of 4G internet, release of prisoners

The J&K Congress on Wednesday urged the government for immediate restoration of 4G internet service and release of all prisoners.

In a statement the party senior Vice President, Ghulam NabiMonga said since all educational institutes were closed in J&K, thestudents have been left with no option but to remain idle at their homes whichhas a telling impact on their future.

   

He said the deadly virus was spreading at an alarming rateand the public health officials have called for minimal public gatherings,which was pushing many activities online.

He said the issue was particularly severe for schools, wherethe risk of spreading the disease was high. He said since all schools, collegesand universities were closed as a result of coronavirus outbreak students weremissing classes, creating an education disruption in J&K.

He demanded immediate release of Kashmir prisoners who werelodged in jails within and outside J&K. “In such situations when there isglobal crisis, detained people must be released,” he said. “Other politicalleaders including Mehbooba (Mufti) Ji and other too must be released as soon aspossible,” he said.
