Congress believes in development, progressive work: Azad

Leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha and former Chief Minister of J&K, Ghulam Nabi Azad on Thursday said that the Congress believes in development and progressive work.

Azad, along with MP candidate from Udhampur-Dodaparliamentary constituency Vikramaditya Singh and vice-president JKPCC, GhulamMuhammad Saroori conducted extensive tour of Chatroo, Bunjwah areas of Inderwalconstituency and addressed people.

   

“If Congress is voted to power we will build more schools,hospitals, colleges and the other institutions in the state. Gujjar communityhas an important role to play in the society. But unfortunately BharatiyaJanata Party (BJP) has neglected this community since 2014,” Azad said. 

He said that Congress would also provide free education uptoclass 12th and free medical treatment to people belonging to Gujjarcommunity.  “Party will make strict lawsto ensure that no shocking incident like Kathua rape and murder takes placeagain,” Azad added. 

He said that people of Chenab valley hold the key to powerand hoped that they would remain steadfast and united in nipping theconspiracies being hatched by outsiders to divide them.

Urging the people to vote wisely and decisively in order tostart the momentum to the development process as also maintain their grip onthe levers of power in the State, Azad asserted that a united and forcefulvoice that would rise from this region will earn them respect and dignity inthe politico-governance structure of the State.

Azad said that at this critical juncture it is incumbentupon the people to exercise their vote with sagacity and maturity in order tomaintain their relevance and status on the political landscape of the state.

Unfolding Congress vision for Chenab valley, Azad said thathe would strive to make it a modern and progressive region of the state ifpeople repose their faith in Congress candidate. “if voted to power, ChenabValley will be converted into model region with excellent roads, powerprojects, attractive tourist infrastructure, health facilities, educationalinstitutions, employment opportunities, and above all inter-community faith andharmony which unfortunately has come under threat of late.”

He appealed to people to vote and support the Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh.
