Congress leader from South Kashmir’s Shangus, Khalid Maqbool on Friday joined People’s Democratic Party (PDP) along with “hundreds of his supporters, Panchs and Sarpanchs,” a PDP handout said.
Also, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and party’sincharge in Tral assembly segment, Manzoor Ahamed Ganie joined the PDP “termingparty’s stand and resolve to safeguard JK’s unique position a prime reason forjoining the party”.
Welcoming both Khalid and Manzoor into the PDP, the party president Mehboba Mufti termedtheir entry a welcome measure and expressed hope that “duo will work earnestlyto strengthen the party and democratise its mission of inclusivity, toleranceand safeguarding of people’s rights.”
