The Congress party’s J&K state unit Wednesday held a road show in the Uri assembly segment which was led by its senior leader and former minister Taj Mohi-u-Din.
The campaign show, which was also attended by formerpresident of the party’s state unit Saifuddin Soz, started from Peernia andwent on to Boniyar.
Soz pleaded with the people to ensure victory for theCongress candidate in the upcoming parliamentary polls “as that will be thedefeat to communal and fascist forces, which are hell bent upon to dividepeople for the sake of coming to power.”
The Congress candidate for Baramulla Lok Sabha Segment HajiFarooq Mir, also addressed the people and sought to assured that he will leaveno stone unturned to ensure their development if elected.
While addressing a series of meetings, Taj Mohi-u-Dinexpressed confidence that Congress party will win the ensuing election with athumping majority and extended his appeal to people of entire Jammu and Kashmirto exercise their franchise in favour his party candidate.
Mohi-u-Din said the BJP was responsible for the damagescaused to peace and development both in the country and state and that Congressparty was fully capable to defeat the communal and fascist forces.
District president of the party for Baramulla, Shoiab Nabi lone also spoke during the road show and cautioned the people to remain vigilant against political exploitation by BJP.
