All Jammu and Kashmir Contractual Teachers Association (AJKCTA) staged a sit in at Pratap Park here.
Marching from MA Road, AJKCTA demanded theirregularisation.
“We have been working since 1998. We were assured that our services will beregularized within three years. We were later brought into the category ofcontractual teachers. In 2010, we were told that all the consolidatedcontractual employees will be regularized after seven years, but we were leftout of that also. We were later brought under the ambit of need base dailywagers under SRO 520,” said Arun Bakhshi, representative of theassociation.
“We make a fervent appeal to Governor to look into thematter and direct the concerned to look into our problems,” they said.
