A police constable was shot at by the militants in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Wedensday evening.
A police official said that a group of militants around 8:30 pm barged into the house of constable Rayees Ahmad Lone at Kathohalan, Shopian and fired upon him. He and his sister identified as Urfi Jan received bullets.
They were rushed to District Hosptial Pulwama from where they have been referred to SMHS Srinagar for specialized treatment.
Confirming the incident, Shopian police chief Shailendra Mishra said: “One of our constable posted at District Police Lines Shopian and his sister were injured in a militant attack. We have registered a case and started investigation.”
