Amid the coronavirus scare, the district administration Ganderbal cancelled the winter sports festival in Sonamarg, officials said.
Chief Executive Officer Sonamarg Development Authority (SDA)Mushtaq Ahmad said the day-long event being organised by SDA in collaborationwith the district administration Ganderbal was scheduled to be held at Sonamargon Sunday.
He said the event has been cancelled on the orders of DeputyCommissioner Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal.
Iqbal said the festival was cancelled as a precautionarymeasure as large crowd was expected in the event.
