COVID-19: Dean colleges Kashmir University issues advisory to govt, private colleges

The Dean Colleges Development Council (DCDC) of Kashmir University (KU) has issued an advisory to all government and private colleges instructing them to take preventive measures to combat the threat of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

In the advisory, the colleges have been instructed to postpone all seminars, conferences, workshops and events involving large gatherings, scheduled this month.

   

“Any student, scholar or staff with travel history to any COVID-19 affected country or in contact with such persons in last 28 days should report to nearest health Centre,” reads the advisory issued by DCDC Prof. Mohiduddin Sangmi.

The advisory states that the faculty should be alert towards any students, scholars with signs and symptoms of Coronavirus, asking them to report any such case to the nearest health Centre.

“All Principals of College, Directors of the institutions intending to take field trips, study tours, picnics shall defer such programmes till further orders,” it reads.

The principals and directors have been asked to take immediate measures to monitor the conditions of the hosteliers through their respective measures in light of UGC advisory.

The advisory comes days after the government ordered the suspension of class work in all schools, degree colleges and universities as a precautionary measure to prevent spread of COVID-19.

Recently, the KU Registrar also issued an advisory for all campuses and staff to take preventive measures to avoid spread of COVID-19.
