Covid-19 pandemic: FMCG major ITC partners with J&K police, hands over relief material

FMCG major ITC LTd., which has set up Rs 150 crore COVID-19 contingency fund for vulnerable sections of society in view of lockdown over Covid-19 pandemic, has joined hands with J&K police to help needy in the union territory.

The conglomerate in its commitment to support the government efforts and play its part in fighting the 

   

pandemic COVID-19 with compassion and resilience has handed over stocks of juices and soaps to IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, said a company official.

He said the stock was handed over to the police at District Police Lines, Srinagar in presence of SSP Srinagar Dr. Mohd. Haseeb Mughal and DYSP DAR  Srinagar Feroz Ahmad Qadri.

The official said the Covid-19 fund will be used to provide relief to most vulnerable section of the society, provide assistance to rural healthcare and even provide protective gear for medical staff.

“This fund will be utilised primarily to provide relief to the vulnerable and most needy sections of society who have been harshly impacted by the pandemic and have faced significant disruption in their livelihoods,” he added.
