COVID19: Refrain from criticising policies, decisions: Govt warns teachers

The government has warned the teaching staff of the schools to refrain from speaking against the policies aimed at combating coronavirus pandemic in J&K.

The diktat comes in the wake of the government decision toengage around 2,000 teachers from all districts of Jammu and Kashmir forassistance of administration in the management of the situation amidcoronavirus scare.

   

“It has come to the notice that some lecturers, masters andteachers are issuing statements on social media against the ongoing policiesand programs of the government, thereby violating the protocol of beinggovernment employees,” reads a circular issued by Joint Director, SchoolEducation, Jammu, HR Pakhroo.

“It is impressed upon all the Principals, ZEOs andHeadmasters to direct their subordinate staff to refrain from such activities,”the order reads.

The teaching staff of the schools has also been directed toextend their cooperation required by the department in combating the prevailingsituation.

Earlier, the Principal Secretary, School Education Asgar,Hassan Samoon took to twitter and directed the Chief Education Officers toconstitute district-level monitoring and coordination committees, districtProgrammer 10+2 data entry operators and 100 teacher volunteers each to provideassistance to administration in COVID 19 management.The government has also deputed collegeProfessors and Assistant Professors as nodal officers at several quarantineCentres across J&K.
