COVID19|PHQ, APHQ to remain closed

Director General of Police Dilbag Singh along with some other senior officers of JK Police have tested negative for COVID19.

However, the Police Headquarters in Srinagar will remain closed for two more days.

   

DGP and other officers including two Additional Director Generals of Police underwent COVID19 tests after an Assistant Inspector General of Police tested positive.

The reports of Singh and other officers came on Tuesday morning.

“Contact tracing is on. The results of several people are awaited,” the DGP told the Greater Kashmir. “For next two days the offices of PHQ will remain closed and after that we will see.”

The headquarters of Jammu and Kashmir Police and Armed Police Headquarters were closed after two SSP-rank officers tested positive for COVID19.

The Armed Police Headquarters at Batamaloo here remained for the sixth consecutive day today as commandant of an Armed Police Battalion who had visited there was tested positive.

Officials said that contact tracing at APHQ is also underway and steps were being taken to break the chain.

Intense fumigation has also been carried out in both the offices.
