The Crime Branch Kashmir (CBK) has registered a case against the student and the examination staff for fraudulently managing two answer script of same serial number in the examination centre number 8132 designated at Government Boys Higher Secondary School (HSS) Batmaloo.
The fraud took place during the conduct of Class 10th bi-annual examination last year.
“A preliminary investigation was initiated after receiving a communication from Joint Secretary (Administration) in J&K BOSE Kashmir Division,” the CB spokesman said.
He said that on March 13 last year examination staff of Centre No 8132 distributed three series of mathematics papers -17503-A, 17503-B and 17503-C among the candidates who were appearing in bi-annual examination.
“While answer scripts were distributed to the students, one candidate namely Hashim Bin Shafi, Roll No. 8132496 went out of examination hall on the pretext of going to washroom. When he returned to examination hall the concerned staff found him in possession of two answer scripts having same serial number of 107676,” the spokesman said.
“The student had managed one more answer script having same serial number and solved C-Series of question paper while he was given A-Series question paper”.
As per the investigations, the hand writing on both the answer sheets does not match with each other. “The student had attempted questions himself on one answer script provided by the staff while the questions on the other answer script with same serial number fraudulently managed by the student from outside were attempted in a different hand writing,” the spokesman said.
He said the case has been taken up for investigations.
