CS-led panel to examine issues related to Ambphalla-Janipur road

Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday constituted a Chief Secretary-led panel to examine issues related to widening of Ambphalla-Janipur road and decongestion of Janipur-High Court road.

The decision in this regard was taken pursuant to DivisionBench of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court order dated June 4, 2019 in PublicInterest Litigation (PIL) Number 4312013, IA Numbers 83812013, 0112015 and0212018 titled ‘Citizen Forum and Others Vs State of Jammu and Kashmir andOthers.

   

With Chief Secretary as the chairperson of the committee,Administrative Secretaries of Finance Department, Planning, Development andMonitoring Department, Public Works (R&B) Department, Law, Justice andParliamentary Affairs Department, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, CEO, J&KERA, and R&B Chief Engineer, Jammu shall be the members of the Committee.

As per an order, the Committee will ensure shifting ofutilities on Janipur-High Court link road and payment to the Power DevelopmentDepartment for making such a shifting possible.

It will also consider the reports furnished by the RITES toput in place a futuristic mobility plan as suggested by RITES.

The Committee will also consider the widening of theexisting road as suggested in the proposal prepared by the Public Works(R&B) Department, pending execution of the Metro project.

The Committee shall be serviced by the Public Works (R&B)department, the order said.
