Central University of Kashmir (CUK) Vice-Chancellor, Prof Mehraj ud Din Mir held a detailed meeting with the varsity’s Chancellor, Lt General Syed Ata Hasnain, here on Monday.
Prof Mehraj ud Din Mir discussed several important matterswith Chancellor and gave a detailed background about the overall development ofthe University. He apprised him about the shifting of majority of thedepartments to Ganderbal and assured him that the remaining departments shallbe shifted very soon. V-C also apprised the Chancellor about the supportextended by the civil administration, both at the state and district level.
Chancellor, Lt General Syed Ata Hasnain, maintained that theUniversity must develop linkages with the society at large and industry aswell. He pointed out that he shall be visiting the university campus veryshortly to have an interaction with the students, faculty and otherstakeholders.
He assured the VC that he will extend every possible supportto the university to see that it flourishes to carve a space at both thenational and international level.
Later Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir signed a tripartite Memorandumof Understanding (MoU) with Deputy Secretary, B.B. Bhagat and Joint SecretaryMHRD.
The MoU has been signed to assess and facilitate theperformance of the university on selected key parameters against the targetsset in order to further improve the performance of the varsity.
