CUK VC interacts with Class Representatives

Central University of Kashmir (CUK) Vice Chancellor, Prof Mehrajud Din Mir, along with senior academic and administrative functionaries of the varsity held a detailed interaction with the Class Representatives (CRs) of various departments at Green Campus of the varsity here on Saturday.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Mehrajud Din Mir, according to a statement said that the teaching-learning process undertaken by the faculty members (work from home) during the harsh winter conditions in Kashmir, have been effective and the students have been successful in completing some portion of their syllabi. “We have to move ahead despite the trying times due to COVID-19 pandemic”, he said and complimented the faculty members for taking regular online classes and ensuring participation of the students during the lockdown period. He also lauded the efforts of the administrative staff in providing the much needed support to the faculty and students. Prof Mehrajud Din Mir listened to queries and grievances of the students and assured them that their genuine demands would be fulfilled.

Registrar, Prof. M AfzalZargar described CRs as the spokespersons of their batch mates stating that it was incumbent upon them to raise the genuine issues confronting the student community. He said the university was committed to provide quality education to the students.

Speaking on the occasion, Controller of Examinations, Prof. ParveenPandit, said the Examination and Evaluation Wing has been successful in conducting the End Semester Examinations of the students during the COVID times and also declared their results within the stipulated period. She also gave the status of Examination and results of various programmes.

Director IQAC, Prof. Farooq A Shah said the objective of holding regular meetings of class representatives with the Vice Chancellor is to get acquainted with the issues and problems confronted by the student community. He said the university is trying to explore ways and means to further improve the teaching-learning during the prevailing situation.
