CUK’s Deptt of Politics holds workshop on mental health

Department of Politics and Governance, Central University of Kashmir (CUK) started a two-day workshop on “Mental Health and Well-being” for the students and research scholars of the varsity here on Thursday.

Laila Qureshi, Psychologist and Counsellor, from “Exceptional Minds,” was the resource person for the event, the varsity said in a statement. Speaking on the occasion, Dean School of Social Sciences, Prof G M Bhat said that such workshops were need of the hour to de-stress the students, scholars and the faculty members. He said the lockdown due to Covid-19 pandemic had further stressed the students of the Valley. Prof Bhat underscored the need of doing physical exercises and workout for maintaining the physical and mental well-being of the individuals.

   

Department Coordinator, Dr. Khalid Waseem, in his address, highlighted the aims and objectives of holding the workshop. He asked the students and scholars to interact with the expert with an open mind and seek answers to their questions.

Ms. Laila Quershi, made a detailed presentation, about the subject and asked the participants to address their personal problems with a positive approach. She threw detailed light on the issues confronted by the youngsters in the Valley.
