A one-day seminar on mathematics and its applications was organized in the department of Mathematics, Central university of Kashmir (CUK) at Nowgam-I academic block here on Friday, a CUK spokesman said.
He said the seminar was a follow-up to the three-dayworkshop on “Algebra & Analysis” which concluded on Thursday. Eminentmathematicians from within and outside the State delivered their lectures onthe theme, including Prof M A Sofi of Central University of Kashmir, Prof APSingh of Central University of Rajasthan, Prof G P Youvraj Ramanujan ofInstitute of Mathematical Chennai, Prof N M Khan of Aligarh Muslim Universityand Dr Sartaj Ul Hasan IIT Jammu.
During the seminar, about 50 research papers were presentedby research scholars and faculty from the universities across the country.Later in the day, valedictory function was held, which was chaired by Prof.Abdul Gani Director Research and Development.
