DAK condoles demise of noted pediatrician Dr Daljit Singh

Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Friday held a condolence meeting at Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar to mourn the demise of noted pediatrician Dr Daljit Singh.

Dr Singh was operated 20 days back at Artemis Hospital Gurgaonfor brain tumour and was shifted to Naryana Hospital Jammu where he breathedhis last today at 11 am. He was 79.

   

Paying rich tributes to the deceased, DAK President Dr Nisarul Hassan prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and expressed heartfeltsympathies to the bereaved family.

Dr Hassan said it is a great loss to the medical fraternityand his death has caused a great void in the field of medicine.

“Born in Dardapora Kreeri area of Baramulla, Dr Daljit was aman of impeccable integrity,” he said.

“A medical luminary, Dr Daljit graduated from Indore MedicalCollege and after completing his post-graduation joined GMC Srinagar and becameProfessor of Pediatrics,” said Dr Hassan, adding that the deceased wasinstrumental in shaping the neonatal care services in Kashmir Valley.

“His commitment to the welfare of people of the state wascommendable. He rendered his services to the people of the state at a time whenmany doctors left them to fend for themselves,” said Dr Hassan.
