The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag Khalid Jahangir today chaired a meeting at Nunwan and Chandanwadi base camps with the line departments to review the arrangements to be put in place for Amar Nath Ji Yatra (SANJY) -2019.
The CEO PDA, CMO Anantnag,SE PDD, Xen R&B, EO MC Pahalgam, representatives of Tourism, Forest, PHE Departmentsand Shri Amar Nath Ji Shrine Board were present in the meeting.
TheCEO PDA appraised DDC about the snow clearance on track from Chandanwadi toHoly Cave and informed that snow has been cleared from Pishoo top to Zojipal.He added that the labours are on the job of snow clearance from Zojipal toSheshnag, Sheshnag to Woavbal top and the track upto MG top will be clearedwithin 10 days.
The DDC directed CEO PDA toensure snow clearance of the track, necessary repairs and renovation of thetrack, repairs at tentage sites Sheshnag, Panjtarni and Holy Cave upto 15thJune 2019 so that other facilities including drinking water, power supply byGen Sets, installation of toilets, bathrooms, dumping of essential commoditieslike rice, sugar, K.oil, Choker, firewood, LPG and medical facilities can beensured before the upcoming SANJY-2019.
The DDC directed CMOAnantnag to ensure all the medicare facilities including oxygen cylinders atidentified locations, life-saving drugs, availability of doctors and paramedicsround the clock at all the halting stations and ambulance services at Base CampNunwan and Chandanwadi. The CMO informed the meeting that 12 doctors will bemade available at medical aid camp at base camp Nunwan. At Chandanwadi Hospitalmedical facilities like ECG, X-Ray, Oxygen, Lifesaving drugs in adequatequantity will be made available by the Health Department with senior doctorsfrom state and outside the state. Moreover, such facilities will be madeavailable at all Transit Camps and halting stations.
TheDDC directed SE PDD to ensure uninterrupted power supply at Base Camp Nunwanand Chandanwadi and to arrange high-quality Gen Sets at Transit Camps andhalting stations like Pishoo Top, Zojipal, Sheshnag, MG Top, Poshpatri,Panjtarni and Holy Cave and to ensure the installation of high mast lights.
The DDC also directed theForest Department to cut down the Russian Poplars inside and outside at basecamp Nunwan, availability of firewood at Chandanwadi, Sheshnag and MG Top. TheXen R&B was directed for immediate macadamization of the road from Ashmuqamto Pahalgam.
The PHE Department wasdirected to provide 580 water connections for Bathrooms and toilets at BaseCamp Nunwan and also to provide 146 PPs at the site. The representative ofShrine Board was asked to complete all necessary repairs of the fabricated hutsat Base Camp Nunwan.
