DDC B’la reviews work on development projects

District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo accompanied by Director Technical Education Ravi Shankar Sharma and other concerned officers today visited several ongoing developmental projects of the district and reviews the pace and position of the work.

The DDC visited Polytechnic College, located in KanisporaBaramulla and took the appraisal of pace and position of its work. The collegeis being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 17.77 crore and is in its finalphase of completion. The college is also equipped with modern and advancedfacilities which includes Modern Cafeteria, Language Block and otherrecreational facilities. DDC directed the concerned authorities to speed up thepace of work so that the college is completed as early as possible and is madefunctional for educational purposes.

   

Dr Itoo also visited the Indoor Sports Stadium to take stockof the pace and position of work during which he was informed that the projectis being carried out at an estimated cost of Rs 8 crore and is also in itsfinal phase. DDC stressed upon mobilising additional men and machinery so thatproject is completed within stipulated time frame. He also reiterated theadministration’s commitment of developing sports infrastructure so that thepotential of our youth is channelised in a positive way.Later, the DDC distributed cheques of Rs 50,000each among 5 poor and destitute students who are currently pursuingprofessional and technical education. The said amount was distributed as financialassistance spearheaded by the Labour department.
