A delegation led by former MLA Ganderbal, Ishfaq Jabbar Tuesday called upon the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole and raised various local issues with him.

The delegation demanded restoration of Sindh Extension Canal breach, at MalshahiBagh, which has hit the irrigation supply to 21 villages including Shuhama, Warpora, Alesteng, Rangil, Wanihama in the district.

   

The delegation also demanded that the ISM dispensary at Syed Pora is made fully functional with requisite staff and equipment, up- gradation of playground, F&ES station besides initiation of work on Lift Irrigation Scheme at Rakhi Zakoora and free ration to the villagers affected due to irrigation water supply shortage.

After giving patient hearing to the issues raised by the delegation, the Div Com passed on spot directions to the CE Irrigation to ensure restoration work is completed by August 20 and water supply is restored to the affected villages. He also instructed the concerned to arrange water pumps on temporary basis for irrigation purposes to the paddy and other crop fields till the irrigation supply is restored.

The Div Com further assured the delegation that all their genuine issues including functioning of ISM dispensary shall be taken with the concerned quarters for prompt resolution..
