Delegations meet Mehbooba

Former Chief Minister and President Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday met scores of pubic delegations at her official residence here.

In a statement here a PDP spokesman said the delegationsfrom various parts of the Valley including Baramulla, Sangrama, Anantnag,Pulwama, Bijebhera, Wachi, Ganderbal and Kangan projected a number of issues onthe occasion and sought their immediate redressal.

   

“Giving patient hearing to all the grievances presentedbefore her, the PDP president assured the delegates that she will take up theissues with the concerned quarters and will seek their immediate redressal,”the spokesman added.

The delegation from central Kashmir’s Kangan area, accordingto the spokesman,  highlighted theproblems being faced by  theAmarnathYatra pilgrims and the local inhabitants due to water scarcity anderratic power cuts.

“Another delegation from north Kashmir’s Narbal headed byParvezHilal underscored the need for the establishment of degree college in thearea. It stated that students from Narbal and adjoining hamlets have to faceextreme hardships due to the absence of a degree college and that severalstudents who have financial constraints, are left with no other option than toquit studies,” the spokesperson said.

He said that  Mehboobaassured them of taking their issues with the relevant agencies for their earlyresolution.
