Demise of Haji Ali Mohammad Ganai, alias Sofi – a well-know social activist of Tangmarg, who passed away here on Saturday, has been widely condoled.
Sofi, who passed at the age of 94, has served in varioussocio-political shades right from the times of GM Sadiq, a former primeminister of Jammu and Kashmir.
Sofi was buried in his ancestral graveyard on Saturdaymorning at Patiheer habitation of Hariwatnoo village in Tangmarg.
Former trade union leader and PDP leader Abdul Qayoom Wani,PDP leader Shabir Ahmad Mir, former commissioner education and NC leader FarooqAhmad Shah, Ex state minister Ghulam Hassan Mir, NC leader Shiekh MustafahKamal, Ex MLA Gulmarg Mohammad Abbas Wani, and many other have paid tributes toSofi and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. Rasm-e-Charum of lateSofi will be observed on Tuesday.
