Details of former militants being upgraded, nobody arrested: SSP Budgam

Police in central Kashmir’s Budgam district has started an exercise of upgrading the details of former militants and nobody has been arrested, Police said Monday.

Talking to Greater Kashmir, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Budgam, NagpureAmod Ashok said that some former militants were called to a Police Station.

   

“We are upgrading details about them,” he said. “We also interact with them.”

Ashok said nobody among them had been arrested and no weapon recovered.

“The picture doing rounds on social media sites is fake,” he said.

The SSP Budgam’s statement comes after it was reported that the forces personnel arrested three persons including a government employee and recovered a rusty pistol from their possession in Budgam on Monday.

Reports said that 53 RR and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Police arrested three persons during the intervening night at Khansahib in the district.

They said that a government employee working in the Education Department was also among the detained persons.
