Development Forum Ganderbal holds protest, demands redress of grievances

Development Forum Ganderbal on Tuesday held a protest demonstration here seeking immediate redressal of the various problems confronting the district.

The protest demonstration was lead by scribe and social activist Sabir Ayoub.

He said that the Ganderbal district has various developmental issues adding that the authorities and the successive governments have failed to come up to the expectations of the people.

The members of the forum mentioned that Ganderbal district is craving for road widening and slow pace of work is adding to woes of the people.

Similarly, the non commencement of work on 93 MW New Ganderbal power project, delay in shifting of central university of Kashmir to its permanent campus in Tulmulla Ganderbal besides other issue.

As the protesters tried to march towards Beehama chowk, police swung into action and foiled the march. Chairman of DFG Sabir Ayoub was taken into custody and later released.
