Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) today condemned the imposition of ban on, what it said, “political activities” in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Banning of political activities has made the atmosphere ofthe region suffocative and people are compelled to shoulder the coffins ondaily basis,” a DFP spokesman said in a statement.
“Authorities have jailed leaders like JKDFP chairman ShabirShah and people have been left at the mercy of the men in uniform who have beenlet free to silence the masses by using whatever means they like to use,” headded.
Meanwhile, the DFP spokesman expressed deep shock over thedeath of a minor boy during an encounter between militants and governmentforces at Hajin in Bandipora district. He expressed solidarity with the parentsand close relatives of Atif and prayed for their patience.
